SILENT IS A SIN 

The walls were cracking, Exterior glasses were breaking, The building collapsing, My uncle happen to



be one of the managers in the building of the organization that day, it’s unfortunate he had his family



with him, lots of workers died, others were injured, He my uncle barely came out alive, his leg were



broken and paralyzed, and his wife and children all dead, but why the sudden collapse of a building



built just four years ago??  The answer lies in the memory of my uncle, Same four years Ago the



construction of this particular building had started, just like my uncle was a manager, he was also the



assistance manager for  managing the project of constructing that building, been an assistant he did



not have complete authority as regards to decision in what materials to be used, the manager in charge



however  having a plan to cheat most of the money allocated for the project, used inferior materials



for the construction of the building, this however was very clear at the sight of my uncle, my uncle was



fully aware that the materials been used were inferior,  but  he remained to himself, and decide not to



even challenge the decision of his manager,  in spite he is not even getting a penny extra from him, he



thought of saving his job and kept mute while the whole process continued. Well his family had died



because of his silence, he could not bear the pain and committed a suicide, his suicide note reads



Had I knew I would have voice out



Had I knew I would have right the wrong before am wronged



I tried protecting myself



But I end up destroying myself



I never knew that my silence won’t protect me



Oh what a shame



I was part of a team that built a mansion that killed my family



I can’t bear the guilt of the life that’s has been lost because I did not spoke out



I never knew



Silence could be a sin,



Do you have the courage to speak out when it matters most???



Look today its all around us



Things that need to be spoken against, in the political sphere even in our day to day life.



Today the Oppression we face from our tyrannical leaders is due to the long silence in our action, silence



has always encouraged the tormentor and never the tormented.



The leaders can be held accountable for their actions only if you won’t remain silent,



The birth of any nation is not out of silence but out of action and cry of freedom,  the nation



was born because some sets of people wants to right what was wrong, and for such they voiced out and



acted, those were  the noble leaders, the likes of Martin Luther king. Authority will only be



strengthen by our silence, we have to make our rights known to our leaders, we have to actually speak



out if we really want change, even if my hands are tied my tongue is not .



Oh Yeee!!! Wake up and speak up



Please tell the person next to you to wake up and speak up, yes speak up, speak up against that



evil deed your friend is doing, speak up against that wrong your brother is committing, Mothers please



don’t keep silent to the wrongs of your children, fathers don’t keep quiet to the wrong happening in



your home, My dear Youths brothers and sisters don’t keep silent to  the wrongs in your life, in your



academics,



Because  its your responsibility to speak against wrogs around, For Almighty Allah



will ask you, did you spoke against the wrong your brother is doing, Did you spoke against the wrong



your sister is doing, Oh Mothers and Fathers Allah will ask you did you tell you r son and daughters to



avoid the wrong.



Yes there are times where silent has been the best option, time when you ignorant about an



issue, time when your silence will make no harm, time when you know less, because Abraham Lincoln



once said I quote “ Its better to remain silent and be thought a full than to speak to remove all doubt”



unquote, you may be silent to demonstrate peace, but make sure you always remember to speak out



when it really matter most, to voice out for the poor and needy, because another life will be lost if you



don’t voice out for the oppressed Muslim around the world, another life would be lost if you don’t



speak out for our right in the nation, another life would be lost, Only if you but speak up. Martin Luther



king once said I Quote “In the end we will remember not the words of our enemy but the silent’s of



our friends:” even he Abraham Lincoln said I quote: To sin by silence when they should protest makes



cowards of men.



I hope you will speak up today, so at least we can make a better place for you and
